These are three cedar strip canoes that l’ve built - l love working with cedar; it has such an evocative smell. Each canoe is built over a set of forms using thin bead & cove cedar strips which are glued together, sanded (lots of sanding), covered with fibre-glass and finally varnished. The cane covered seat is fixed to the bottom of the canoe; a double paddle is used for propulsion. All up the Wee Lassie weighs around 25 lbs.
