Chris and l escaped the cold of Melbourne for a week up north where the temperature was a lovely dry 30C. During the week we hired a car and drove (21/2hrs) to Kakadu National Park to view the Aboriginal rock art at Obirr rock and then stayed the night at the South Alligator Inn about 30 Km from Jabiru where the park headquarters is located ( l stayed here about 30 years ago in fairly primitive accommodation - since then things have vastly improved).
One of the most amazing sites we saw was the sunset viewing by hundreds of people at Mindil Beach; not the sunset, but why all these people were there.
