The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: 2/1/2015

Today, with Yvonne and Trevor, Chris and l went to the National Gallery of Victoria to see this exhibition. The manner inwhich the exhibition is mounted is the most imaginative that l’ve seen for years: manikins whose facial features moved as if they were real people; manikins “walking" round a catwalk…... And what an amazing range of techniques and styles that Gaultier has used to create these pieces. Also a quick viewing of Takahirov Iwasaki’s floating sculpture of the Itsukushima Shrine; hours of meticulous work with wood. Then we had lunch at the Fatto restaurant. A very pleasant day with friends.
