Every year we go away with friends for a week’s holiday somewhere in Australia or, on occasions, to locations overseas. This year we went to the Blue Mountains in NSW where we stayed in a house on the outskirts of Blackheath which is beyond Katoomba. A lovely week of walking, eating, drinking and talking and of course experiencing the sites; spectacular, rugged cliffs and ravines and endless forests. I have great admiration for the early explorers in their attempts to find a way through these mountains to the plains beyond. A great week away. Before we joined our friends, Chris and l had a couple of days in Sydney to see a play at the Opera House and the Archibald art prize at the NSW Art Gallery.
