Dinghy progress as at 12/2/2013

So after much sanding, l've fibre-glassed the outside, turned the boat over and have almost finished sanding and clearing up the inside prior to fibre-glassing. It's always a challenge to deal with the concave surface of the inside, particularly with this build. The length over-all of the dinghy is 7'2" with a 4' beam which means there has been some distortion when bending the cedar strips around the building forms. This distortion is most obvious on the inside and there is only so much sanding and filling that can be done to rectify the bumps and gaps without breaking through the hull; compromise is needed.

It's a slow build but the challenges involved are still stimulating. I aim to finish sanding this week, by which time the weather should be cool enough to begin fibre-glassing the inside. Then comes the internal fit-out!
