Yesterday a wonderful Cirrus cloud formation formed over our house. Their name comes from the Latin for a lock of hair; they are the delicate bright white wisps of ice that appear high in the sky. Cirrus are the highest of the common clouds typically forming above 24,000 feet. To be technical l think these are the species Fibratus and the variety Radiatus!
