Last night Chris and l saw a Rembrandt exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria, followed by a talk by an Amercian academic Dr Betsy Wieseman who provided insights into Rembrandt’s techniques, subjects and life. An extensive collection of the artist’s work (paintings etchings and drawings) gathering from the NGV collection and collections from around the world. To me it showed, in exquisite detail and fantastic technique, the lives of people living in the 17 century.
