Telescope: June 2016

When i was in my teens l bought a 6 inch mirror blank from a telescope supplier in Melbourne and spent 6 months grinding; l was going to make a 6 inch reflecting telescope. In the end it was too much and l dropped the project.

Now, many years later, l’ve bought from a University of the 3rd Age group in Lakes entrance,  a 10 inch Dobsonian reflecting telescope that they no longer need. It’s huge and needs a “service” - dirty primary mirror and loose bits and pieces. But l’m wrapped and can’t wait to start scanning the night sky.
