Yesterday went to a concert of Renaissance and Baroque works for Wind, Viols and Voice. Performers included The Loude Band using instruments called cornets, sackbuts, shawms and curtals. Marvellous sounds amplified by the wonderful church acoustics. One highlight for me was the performance by the Trio Venerdi of the Trio Sonata in A (Giovanni Paolo Cima:1570-1662); a bass viol and two descant recorders.
