Today Chris and l visited the Botanic Gardens and in particular to see Guilfoyle's Volcano. In the early days of the gardens this area, a high point, consisted of a small reservoir to supply water to the developing gardens. In recent times it has been recreated as a "volcano" with plantings of cactii and succulents on its slopes with a water garden in its "crater". Since we last visited, the plantings have grown and developed into a gorgeous setting with many of the cactii in flower.
From the volcano to the tea rooms for morning coffee, tea and scones.
Here are some photos of the cactii taken with my iPad Mini; l'm experimenting with the ipad camera.
