We planted a eucalypt in our front yard over 30 years ago. Found out last week that its roots had fractured the main water supply pipe to our house with lots of water gradually seeping into the ground over the past three months; hence the cracked walls in our house. All that water swelled the clay onwhich the house foundations sit, causing the house to shift. Today Nick, an arborists from The Tree Company, removed the tree; very sad but needed. We’ve kept three trunk sections as reminders of the tree.
