Kimono: August 2016

I’ve spent the past few weeks weaving material to make a short kimono. Next time l’ll weave longer pieces for the body of the garment, but it does take a long time, using thin yarn, to weave these pieces. The thin yarn means the finished weave is soft and very pliable. Chris figured out how to join the four pieces together; two for the arms and two for the body of the kimono. One challenge was to figure out how to secure the warp from unravelling when the material was cut. I’m really pleased with this first attempt at making a useful garment.
