We decided to fly up to Canberra for the day to see a Turner exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia. A short flight of 40 minutes, taxi to the gallery, morning tea in the Turner Tea Room at the gallery and then to the exhibition. I hadn't realised that Turner's painting style in his later years must have been a precursor to Impressionism. Apparently his later works were ridiculed by his contemporaries. i really enjoyed this show, particularly the works that l've included on the photo page.
