I’ve just got back from a delightful 10 days in the Loire Valley helping Kenji and Mai with their grape harvesting. Together with Bonnie, Bill and David we picked, bottled and labeled many bottles of Chenin Blanc, the wine for the Loire. We stayed in a gite in the small village of Faye d’Anjou: no tourists; old, old buildings; quietness; wonderful croissants from the boulangerie in Faye; end of day swims in the gite’s pool. In between helping with the harvest we had time to visit local markets, Angers to see the apocalypse tapestry, Savennieres, Rablay for the annual community picnic and a Medieval village. A wonderful experience.
