Silo Art trail: May 2021

Last Monday and Tuesday we drove for about four hours NW of Melbourne to Mallee country, staying the night at Sea Lake. For us this was the beginning of the Silo Art trail, visiting five small towns where the wheat silos had been painted with gigantic murals, usually of local people. The district is suffering from the lack of overseas tourists, particulalry in Sea Lake where the major attraction is Lake Tyrrell, a very large salt lake just out of town.

The motel in Sea Lake where we stayed Monday night didn’t do breakfast on the Tuesday morning, so breakfast here at  the Bottom Cafe. The Top Cafe was up for sale. Monday night meal at the pub.
