Music

I’ve always loved the sound of the cello. A few years ago l hired one and struggled through six months of lessons. In the end l couldn’t cope with the lesson schedule and decided to have a break; big mistake.

I'm now playing the descant recorder as part of a recorder group organised by U3A. There are ten of us with two descant, three tenor and five trebles playing a variety of music; currently we're leanring a rondeau by Henry Purcell. My first contact with recorders was years ago while completing my primary (elementary) teacher education training. Then all students, as part of the music program, were required to learn to play the descant recorder. I'm also beginning to look at the Sonata in A Minor by Arcangelo Corelli (1653-1713).
